DB upgrade to from Nav 2013 to Nav 2015

I am new to upgradation. I tried searching on internet and you tube.I am confused which process to follow.Can you please send me shortest way of upgradation from Nav 2013 to Nav 2015

    If the modified objects are more then you can use application merge utility.

    if they are less then you can manually do

    If you have any modified objects in your NAV2013 database then those changes need to be merged in NAV2015 database objects.

    Application Objects refers to the 2015 objects merged with the customizations from the Older Version

    Task 8: Import the application objects to the converted database

    is not clear to me . what does it mean by application objects and how do I prepare application objects.
