DIXF exports CSV files without text qualifier - compare data between legal entities issue

When exporting data to CSV file DIXF does not put selected text qualifier around test columns.

To export to CSV you need to create two definition groups. On one the data source s AX on the other is e.g. CSV.

On the CSV data source parameters you select column delimiter and text qualifier.

Text qualifier is not used in the resulting file. This creates problem when you export data that contain special characters e.g. a comma in the text and this character is used as a column delimiter.

Of course one can argue that we can change the delimiter for example to pipe "|". But for some reason when you use Compare data between legal entities function in DIXF module, you can only select data source that has comma set as a delimiter. Other data sources are not shown in the wizard.

Because of this error the compare function also works incorrectly - e.g. it reports records not existing in source while they do - this will only happen when cross instance is selected as then the data gets exported via CSV file format which does not contain text qualifier.

Do you have a workaround or how to suggest a fix?

Unfortunately the export itself is done inside DMF .net libraries not in X++.

UPDATE:

There is an option to mark the column as TextQualified in the Modify Staging Mapping form.

The CSV file then contains field values wrapped in double quotes. So this is issue is solved.

However, when using Compare data between legal entities, the wizard generates the automatic mapping and there is no way to mark this checkbox before compare run.
