batch job does not start correctly according to the scedule

Posted on by 768

Hello everyone,

I have a batch job which is scheduled to be run everyday at 18 o'clock but for some unknown reason it starts at 15 o"clock. Could pls point me to the right direction?

Thank you in advance.

sorry. I've mistaken. All other batchjobs which have GMT+4 timezone are running at correct time. Simply there are other batchjobs scheduled for GMT+3 zone. Therefore there 1 hour difference. I'll try to reschedule and check whether it helps or not. Many thanks for you help

Do all of them have the same 3 hour offset compared to the scheduled time?

No. I found many of them which are scheduled at one time and are running at another like this one we are discussing here. So maybe schedule can be changed somewhere else after initial scheduling?

    That looks correct.

Then you could try to reschedule the batch job and see if it helps.

By the way is it only this one batch job that you think runs in wrong time?

As I get it it is the right tab:

On the server configuration you should see a tab called Batch server schedule.

The batch server timezone has no impact here. No matter where the server is, and what timezone it has, it will run the batchs according to the (absolute) batch schedule.

Thanks. I checked this out. Batch group AOS1 (my batchjob is assigned to this batchgroup) is assigned to AOS1 server which is batch server and which has got timezone set up in Windows OS - GMT+4. The only thing I don't see there is "when" from above post of yours

Go to Administration - Setup - Server configuration.

Here you can see which AOS is set up to run which batch groups and when.

Can you tell me where to check on which batch server batchgroup is assigned? I thought that AOS server on which the batch job is running is actually a batch server for the batch job, isn't it?

Good, so now it looks that we can trust that the batch job really seems to run at different time than scheduled.

Next thing you should do is to analyze the batch group and batch server setup. Is the batch job assigned to such batch group, that is assigned to a batch server that is set up to run batches at 18:00 GMT+4?
