Installing Microsoft Dynamics NAV Windows Client

After successfully completing the installation of Microsoft Dynamics NAV on Azure and verifying that the installation was successful and that I can connect to the Azure VM, I began the final step, installation of the Windows client.  This process is begun by following this URL - mynavvm.cloudapp.net, replacing the MyNavVM with the name of my VM, which I did.  The link did what it should do and took me to a file that opened a Menu with several selections, I chose Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 | Windows client then the process began and within seconds it failed, when opening the log that was produced I see the following errors:

* Activation of xxxxonavsvrvm.cloudapp.net/.../Microsoft.Dynamics.Nav.Client.application resulted in exception. Following failure messages were detected:
+ Downloading xxxxonavsvrvm.bodyodynamics.net/.../Microsoft.Dynamics.Nav.Client.application did not succeed.
+ The remote name could not be resolved: 'XXXXonavsvrvm.XXXXdynamics.net'

As mentioned above, I can successfully log into the VM for my instance, I have done a number of searches but I am drawning a blank Any and All assistance is most welcome.

Thank you

CHS

    Start-Process -FilePath 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\100\Service\finsql.exe' -ArgumentList "servername=[SQLSERVER], database=[DATABASENAME], ntauthentication=yes"

#To Open Windows Client to test the Extension

    start "DynamicsNAV://localhost:[ClientServicePortNo]/[NAVSERVERNAME]/[CompanyName]/?tenant=default"

    #To Open web client

    Start-Process "https://[VMNAME].cloudapp.azure.com/[NAVSERVERNAME]/WebClient/"

I am still in search of some help.  The original message above still is occurring, I have been able to connect via the web client, but I am still getting no joy in trying to resolve the item that I first recorded above.

    Any other suggestions please?

    Thank you

    Chris

Suresh,  I was able to get into the instance of Navision for the test/dummy system, I was able to see sales ordering, CRM, etc. for the sample company that you get when first installing Dynamics CRM.   I can connect with the Web Client that you have shared here for me.  However, I still have the original error when trying to get the Windows Client that I have shared above.

I have been able to log in with the web client, I changed the v=nav.70 to nav.90 and it worked, I was able to log in.  Interesting, I cannot connect to download the Windows Client to my PC, but the webclient did work this time.

RE: Installing Microsoft Dynamics NAV Windows Client

    Hello Suresh;

I have done this very thing, this is the basis for the question I posted, you can see from my original question that when I run this command I get the error below:

    * Activation of xxxxonavsvrvm.cloudapp.net/.../Microsoft.Dynamics.Nav.Client.application resulted in exception. Following failure messages were detected:

+ Downloading xxxxonavsvrvm.bodyodynamics.net/.../Microsoft.Dynamics.Nav.Client.application did not succeed.

+ The remote name could not be resolved: 'XXXXonavsvrvm.XXXXdynamics.net'

This is consistent, I have tried this a number of times.  I can RPD to the VM and login with the username and password, all is well.  I have checked with the Azure team and they have verified that my VM is running just fine.  However, when I issue the mynavsvrvm.cloudapp.net I get stuck.

Has anyone see this error before and resolved it?

    Thanks

    Christopher

xx.1xx.1xx.1xx.cloudapp.net would be the format that this would take, but not sure it is correct.
