Hi everyone,

I'm facing an issue with database logging in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. I've enabled database logging for the DirPartyTable to track changes, and it’s working as expected for Insert and Update operations. For example, when I create a new customer, an "Inserted" log is created, and when I update a record, an "Updated" log is generated. However, when I delete a customer (which should affect the DirPartyTable), no "Deleted" log is being created.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

Enabled database logging via System Administration > Setup > Database log setup.
Selected DirPartyTable and enabled logging for Insert, Update, and Delete operations.
Verified that logs are generated for inserts and updates, but not for deletes.

It's not true that deleting a customer should always delete the party as well.

Namely:

The party can still be used in a different role, e.g. a vendor, and deleting the party would cause data corruption, therefore it's prevented.

No deletion is even attempted unless Delete parties with no roles parameter is enabled.

I'm assuming that your logging works correctly and you see no logs for deletion simply because no party was deleted.

Hi,

Did you check Database setup screen? Do you have a record for Delete on DirPartyTable ?
