ADJUST COST ISSUE

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

I am facing a major issue in Navision 2016.

One of the company in Nav16 has been setup for manual cost adjustment and posting and it was working fine. recently we have noticed that price changes is not reflecting in unit cost. We tried to manually run the report with item filter and even without filter but no luck. After that i checked in the table 5804 - Avg. Cost Adjmt. Entry Point and found that many item entries are there, for which adjustment entries have not passed.

Can you please advice the solution.

 Costing Method = Average

    RE: ADJUST COST ISSUE

    Hi,

Could you describe the problem with an example?

I just did the following (in a database with Automatic Cost Posting = No):

    - Posted Item Journal to have an item adjustment

    - executed "Adjust Cost - Item Entries" (now the Unit Costs on the Item Page is updated)

    - executed "Posted Inventory Costs to G/L" (now I can see the costs in the General Ledger)

    Thanks Hannes for the reply.

I have issue in manual cost adjustment or moving average calculation, not revaluation of item. Please refer the below email where microsoft have explained the process, here my issue is, this process is not working now suddenly.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../inventory-how-adjust-item-costs

    To adjust item costs manually

Choose the Search for Page or Report icon, enter Adjust Cost - Item Entries, and then choose the related link.

In the Adjust Cost - Item Entries window, specify which items to adjust costs for.

    Choose the OK button.

    RE: ADJUST COST ISSUE

    Hi,

Have a look for the Revaluation Journal.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../inventory-how-revalue-inventory

This journal is normally used to amend the Unit Costs on the Item Card.

"Adjust Costs - Item Entries" is normally used to amend the Unit Price, Indirect Costs etc.

    Hi Ansari,

I am talking about the cost, Average cost is not calculating for the company where inventory setup have set for manual calculation (we use  Adjust Cost - Item Entries and Post Inventory Cost to G/L report for calculating /adjusting the cost).

Can you elaborate what you mean by "Price Changes is not reflecting in unit cost"?

Is the Unit Price on the Item card(s) set up as a function of cost and a desired profit percentage? Or are you talking about something else?
