Sales Order > Direct Delivery

Dear All,

Sales Order > Direct Delivery > Will create a Purchase Order to our Vendor to drop ship the Product to our Customer

When we add 2nd line item to the same Sales Order > It creates different Purchase Order for Direct Delivery.

Is there any option to add the second line item to the same Purchase Order. I know that I can enter manually but it does not show link/relationship between Sales Order & Purchase Order for 2nd line item. Please suggest.

    That feature works line wise.

It's not possible to add lines to an existing Direct Delivery PO in the way you want. You'd have to customise it.

    Hi R Suresh Babu,

On the sales order line details "Delivery" tab, if you keep the delivery type set to "stock" but also check the "Direct delivery" box and set it to "yes". You will be able to use the direct delivery workbench as opposed to the system automatically creating purchase orders at the time of changing the delivery type.

Note: this check box can be defaulted onto the line if you also select the same on the product record, where you want certain products to always be directly delivered.

Procurement and sourcing > Purchase orders > Direct delivery processing > Direct delivery

Here you can select all the lines on the order and select "Create direct delivery". This will remove the sales order lines from this tab and tell you that a PO was created. This PO will also show in the "Confirmation" tab of the direct delivery workbench.

You can further process the PO from here or from the purchase orders page. When the purchase order is updated for delivery, the respective sales order lines will be updated to delivered.

    Regards,

    Matt

That's neat Matt. Once you create the PO, can you use the Direct Delivery Workbench to add more Sales lines to that PO?

    Hi Guy,

No, it will create a new PO each time you select "Create direct delivery".

Note: If you try to use the "Copy from" function to combine the lines, the link with the sales order will be lost which will prevent the direct delivery functionality working as intended.

I'd suggest keeping them as separate POs but using perhaps the vendor reference number to identify that they represent part of the same order for the vendor. Other option would be to delete the original PO (assuming it hasn't been sent to the vendor) and then re-create the direct delivery with the new lines.
