Creating Content Blocks for emails/moduls

Hello everybody,

at the moment I am creating a custom email template with enabled layout. I was creating content blocks for sections that are used globally across emails. The problem is i can’t insert them in the email.

When I take a look at those in the Content Block overview I see that they are enabled but they are not showing up when I want to take a look at all email content blocks. Is there any class I need to put in the block to make it available.
I allready checked that the content block is enabled for email and that it’s live. Did someone was facing the same issues?

When talking about creating content blocks I was wondering is it possible to extend the standard “modules” like text, divider with self made modules via power platform or api?

best regards

Niklas

As noted earlier, emails (or templates) that use old DIV-stryle layouts cannot be used (those are more than 1 year old, prior to April 21). If that is not the case (i.e., your email and templates are using Table-based layouts that was introduced post-April 21), then it should work. Please let us know so we can investigate and fix the issue if any.

Had the same problem. You can't use a template that was created before they did the content block update. It worked for me to start from scratch (as hard as that sounds). Create an email and do not select a template and see if you can insert your content blocks.

    Hope that helps.

If the content blocks are in "Live" state and still not available for inserting in email then that is not an expected behavior. There may be some issue with the custom code you are inserting. Please file a support ticket to ensure we can assist further. admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/

    Thanks, PM, Microsoft

    Hey Ola,

thanks for your reply to my issue. Yes I enabled the switch for the new canvas experience.

I have the right role to use them too.

For some of the content blocks its working if I don't insert custom code. As soon as I copy custom code into the block its not usable.

    Best regards

    Niklas

Hi, have you enabled the feature under Settings -> Feature Switches? Enable "New canvas experience  and Content Blocks"
