We want a non-person sender on notification email sent from Power Automate. no-reply@company.com or crm@company.com

What is best practices? Outlook email, outbound action...or other methods? Email beeing shown on timeline is not important.

Regardless which method being used, the non-person email must have a Office 365 license / Microsoft email account?

I have the same question (0)

I'm curious what others might say. My go-to method of emails in Power Automate is by using email templates along with the msdyn_SendEmailFromTemplate unbound action. I typically do this with a licensed admin account.

    • Email template enables user access to modify, including dynamic content
    • Email appears in timeline
    • Email will only be delivered from environments where this mailbox is enabled. This helps prevent delivering emails in lower environments when we're doing testing, but emails still appear in the timeline for review at status "Pending Send".

Of course Outlook can be used, but the content of the email is contained within the flow and email is not visible from within D365. The user in this case only needs access to Outlook, though.

    Chad,

I completely agree, in fact I'm trying to set this up for a project I'm on now.  Could you please share a real-world power automate flow that calls a CRM template and sends it?  Many of the examples I find are generic and are not clear on the exact steps to do exactly what you are doing.

The use of a template and getting the record set regarding a specific CRM record are exactly what I need to do.  The email only being delivered from environments where the mailbox is enabled is a huge bonus.

Is it possible for you to share the details of a Power Automate that does all of this?

We do not have template access, as we dont use microsoft marketing, instead we used the SMTP connector.
