Email Insights - Unsubscribe Count is 0

We're experiencing an issue where we aren't getting the Unsubscribe count from Insights. In order to capture that data, we've been having to got to the Insights tab > Interactions > Clicked email links > Export the list of people who clicked on the link > Review each record to ensure that it was an actual Unsubscribe. From what I understand, this was working at some point. Can someone provide steps on how to troubleshoot this?

Thank you!

RE: Email Insights - Unsubscribe Count is 0

    Hi partner,

    Hope you are well.

If a contact unsubscribes from the default subscription center (tick "Do Not Email"), the "Bulk Email" field will be switched to "Do Not Allow".

If a contact unsubscribes from a subscription list (untick the subscription list), the contact will be removed from the list.

A recipient selected the subscription center link in an email and then unsubscribed from one or more mailing lists. This value counts, at most, one unsubscribes per message per recipient. Unchecking the subscription list is considered an unsubscribe.

Please check if you check Unsubscribe count after understanding the above-mentioned instructions.

Looks like you won't be able to get the list of unsubscribes/opt outs from the Insights section since that looks for opt outs via the subscription lists. In our case we were using an opt out form which people land on when they click on the unsubscribe link in a marketing email. To get a list of opt outs for a specific marketing email/customer journey, we created a segment of people who submitted the opt out form after receiving the marketing email from the specific customer journey. We also added a condition to check that the do not allow bulk emails field is set to do not allow as we saw that some email recipients did not toggle it to do not allow.
