Sales Tax by Delivery Address

Hi all,

We need to begin charging sales tax by delivery address.  We have created sales tax groups with correct destinations.  I also found in "terms of delivery" the option to select "Delivery" as the taxable address.  However, if I run a test choosing a customer with these terms of delivery, it does not charge sales tax.

However can I configure AX to charge tax automatically based on delivery address?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

    Hi mikefern,

If you open the customer adress section and select 'more options-advanced, you should be able to identify a sales tax group field that you can use for linking a specific sales tax combination to this address. You then have to make sure that this address is linked to the 'delivery' purpose so that AX can identify the sales tax to apply correctly.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hey Ludwig,

Do you know if these delivery address sales tax groups are importable through data management?

This doesn't seem to work for Vendor Purchase Orders.

I need the tax to be calculated based on the delivery address of the warehouse.  Any ideas?

    Hi Antman123,

You can get it to default by configuring an appropriate Sales tax group to the receiving Site. Go to Advanced options and you can assign one there. However, you will also need to consider if there is an override of this based on the Sales Tax address designated on the Delivery Terms/Terms of Delivery configuration (This points to the Sales Tax Group on the specified address type designated).

    Hi,

Standard data entity 'Party postal address sales tax group V2' can be used to update the Sales tax group on address records.

    Regards,

    Laurens

Hi Christopher, going back some time, but I am trying to achieve this but it continues to default to the sales tax group on the customer, can you explain what may be causing the issue?

    Hi James,

Will be difficult to say without knowing what has been configured. You can email me at choyee@shaw.ca if you want to discuss.

    Cheers,

    Chris
