GP Home Screen To Do List

Posted on by 10

How can I add the To Do list with reminders on the home screen.  I click on customize and click "to do" and it goes away.  How can I get it to appear on my screen?

Thank you

To add to the information already given, if none of this resolves the issue with the To Do or other sections of the GP Home page showing when you select them, try refreshing the Home page by clicking on the Financial area page and back to Home again, to see if the changes show, as well, log out and back into Dynamics GP.

If that still doesn't work, check the SY08100 table which is the syHomePageLayout table. Each section, such as the Quick Links and To Do, have their own record in the table. For example, I believe Quick Links is SectionID 5, SEQNUMBR 1 at least in my GP environment.

I've had to add and remove sections, monitoring this table, to find out which section is which, then I can use that information to determine why a certain user isn't seeing that section in the GP Home page.

    Thanks

    Holly,

I just joined your question with another thread you posted with the same question.

RE: GP Home Screen To Do List

    Hi Holly,

This is happening quite randomly and has been around for many years since various GP versions back to 2010 or 2013 as far as I remember and was never fixed.

Randomly the home page would 'lose' panes and you can't add them back thru the 'customize this page' option.

What I end up is fixing the home page settings for that particular user account from the SQL back-end.

If you don't have access to SSMS, please as your IT or DB staff.

Here is more about the issue in itself:

    www.crestwood.com/.../

Be careful to apply this to that userid only (replace 'userid' in the scripts by the real GP user ID).

The user has to be out of GP in order for this fix to work, as a user updates the content of the table every time it logs out of GP..

PS: here's another thread discussing the same issue years ago: https://community.dynamics.com/gp/f/microsoft-dynamics-gp-forum/119295/gp2013-home-page

Never use the option to select a new role, as it screws up all your previously selected shortcuts or links you might have had setup.

Are you clicking on 'Customize this page' in the upper right-hand corner of the screen?

To do and Reminders on Homepage

    Hi

My home page changed and my to do section is missing on my home page now. I have the short cut but can't add it to the home screen where is shows the list of all my reminders and tasks. How can I get it back?  Thanks
