Management reporter "Main account category"

Hi All,

I m preparing a financial statement and I m trying to use main account category in the row definition, link to financial dimensions. when I generate the report and compare it to my trial balance. I noticed that its getting the wrong accounts all the total is incorrect. Example my main account category is called sales and its related to account 701100 to 701199.

The report that I get using management reporter is taking other accounts like 7012 ...

Even thought I made sure to add the main account category only for the account that I want to use all the other accounts have other categories.

Can you please help me with this issue?

Regards

I'll just add to this post in case others find it helpful.  I had a similar situation where I found a report that was supposed to show balances for a Main Account Category was missing one particular Main Account.  I found this through cross checking my numbers.
No matter what I did in D365 to the main account around changing the Account Category on the Main Account (changing to a different category, changing back) I couldn't get the report to pick it up.

To prove to myself that the issue was on the Management Reporter (Financial Reporting) side
I created a new Row Definition
Then press Edit, Insert Rows from Dimensions
Make Main Account Category ALL &&&
Press OK and it will fill the row definition
Then you will start to see the relationship between Main Accounts and Main Account Categories.

In my case, I could see the Main Account in question had a blank main account category.

I found the only way to resolve this was to reset the datamart.  Nothing I could do in D365 triggered the update on the MR side.
The trick was useful to confirm my suspicion that MR not seeing the relationship

    Hi Anis,

If you switch the account setup and assign different or new categories then it might be necessary to reset the datamart if those changes are not reflected when you run the report.

Have you already tried doing that?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
