D365 For Talent Customization

Hi All,

I would like to ask about the future of D365 For Talent customization.

As of today, these are the available customizations:

-Personalizing the form - can add custom fields

-Using CDS 2.0 - can sync selected tables from Talent to F&O but flowing back is not available yet (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/administrator/data-integrator)

  • Job Functions to Compensation Job Function.
  • Departments to Operating Unit
  • Departments to Operating Unit
  • Job Types to Compensation Job Type
  • Jobs to Jobs
  • Jobs to Job Detail
  • Position Types to Position Type
  • Job Positions to Positions
  • Job Positions to Positions Parent Job Assignment
  • Workers to Worker
  • Employments to Employment
  • Employments to Employment Detail
  • Position Worker Assignment to Position Worker Assignments
  • Worker Addresses to Worker Postal Address V2

As our requirement:

-Creating new tables and forms (which is not available yet)

-Creating new customized reports

I would like to know if D365 For Talent have plans to be fully customizable like D365 for Finance and Operations and possibly could give me an when could this happen?

    It's really annoying when there are no dates on when this is coming. It's fine that you can show a custom field, it's better when you can do something with it! Hopefully it won't be to long until it's available.

    Hi Kalsru,

    although Microsoft says it's working, I haven't seen yet :) I'm still waiting for it. they say it's only working some entities:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../core-hr-entity-cds-apps

    The following areas WILL be made available on the Common Data Service for Apps:

    Compensation entities

    Benefits entities

    Custom field support in CDS for Core HR entities      

    I hope it will be there soon

    Hi Nicu, we added custom fields for workers entity in talent cloud application , but when we browse for the custom field in CDS2.0 , we don't see the custom field.Any idea?thanks

    Hi Jessie,

    not only in theory, but also in practice. the new forms are created in Power Apps and then embedded in Talent.

    Hi nicu,

    You have a very useful blog, will search more on Power BI and CDS.

    So in theory we can create additional forms using PowerApps too?

    Hi there,

    I can't speak on behalf of Microsoft, but there some things that you can do:

    1 . Creating new customized reports - with Power BI and CDS 2.0 - https://talent.aleman.ro/2018/10/16/talent-integration-with-power-bi/ 

    2. You can create new tables (they are only useful if you create Poweapps applications and embed them in Talent.

    for the other features we can talk more in December :)
