Can I add a Display menu as entry Point in a Privilege in D365 Fin& Op with extension.

How Can I achieve to add a new entry point in standard Privilege with new display menu Item??

Create a project in your extension model

Right click on the security privilege you want to extend in the Application Explorer.

Select Create Extension

Optionally rename the extension element (it will be in your project)

Drag your Display Menu Item into the Entry Point node.

Set the Access Level property to your requirement

I think Microsoft has disabled Extension feature for Security Privilege.

Please check my screen shot.

I am using Version 8.1(Update 23).

The node is greyed out because your model does not reference the model in which the privilege resides in.

Dynamics 365 -> Model Management -> Update Model Parameters -> Select your model -> update its package references

My Extension model is already referencing to model where privilege residing.

you can check the same in your env.

Make sure that you have a project open. And make sure that the project's associated model is indeed your model.

I am not aware of anything that can cause the extension to be disabled other than references...

Is your extension model in its own package or in the same package as HB1? If it is separate, then I don't know...

Try model refresh, open & close VS and then you should consider updating to a newer version - 8.1 is very old.

May I know your D365 Configuration,i.e Product Version, Platform version etc.

My extension model(DXC_KBHome_Extension) is in its own package and referencing to HB1 Model.

Pete, are you sure? As far as I know, privilege extensions are not and never been available.

On the other hand, it's possible to create a new privilege and add it to existing duties through extensions.
