Hi,

      Can anyone give the solution for the below said error.

    MDN,

    Parameters can only be used for labels not for text constants and source expressions as per your screenshots.

    The first picture in this thread shows that you have a DaraItem field. The error reported say that in your report you have a control called TextBox56 that is binded to a wrong field.

    Can you show us the value binded to TextBox56 in your RDLC? I thinks it’s an expression with Fields!....

    It is not a data item field. how to retrieve the report parameter to compile.

    If this is a Dataitem fields, use should use Fields! for retrieving the report fields.

    Hi,

         I have added a new parameter in report head. Following steps has been mentioned below ,after I compile above said error occurs,

    Yes, you can remove External Document No., save the report and add the field again.

    Remove the expression, save and compile. Then go to the report designer and add the field expression again, sometimes it did not recognize the fields based on the when you added those fields.

    Check your report designer for control called Textbox56 and then check if it’s binded to the correct field. Please post the RDL image also.
