Hi,Is it possible to change a Warehouse name or site Name with transaction on them ? If so what is the implication and what are the things to be taken care

Hi atef083,

Have you tried renaming the warehouse / site?

This should be possible even if you have transactions recorded.

Hello atef083,

If you open your inventory sites, then you can make a right-mouse click and select the rename button.

Enter a new ID and then select OK, which will rename the site for you.

Please wait until the process is finished and then you should see your new ID.

my concern is this change will override all the transaction before and change the old code for the site or warehouse with the new one , also can i get report with date for the old site name

Hi atef083,

You are right.

Renaming will change the old records.

If you don't want to have that then I would recommend that you simply create new sites/warehouses and not using the old ones anymore.

This ensures data consistency and allows you reporting on the old and the new sites/warehouses.

Hi atef083,

The effective from date type functionality doesn't exist on the warehouse master. Once updated, it will update all records. the warehouse is tied in so many inventDimId's and it's very difficult to create effective from date type functionality (typical for employee records).

Hi Atef083,

Like mentioned above, you can rename the coding. Note that if you have customizations with new fields without the proper table relation, it will be skipped. For sure, test the renaming of the warehouses in a test environment first.
