Inventory Transaction error

Hi All ,

When user tries to cancel the delivery remainder in Transfer order in AX 2012 R1 , system throws the following error

The quantity cannot be reduced. The number of inventory transactions on order is too low because the quantity or part of it is referenced by an output order or a production order or is marked against other transaction"

Item has automatic reservation and transaction shows in reserved ordered ,does not have any output order entries and marking also and unable to cancel the reservations ,tried to change the reservation qty to Zero for that transaction line ,but system updating the qty back.

Any suggestions to resolve the issue ?

    Did you try to reduce the Transfer Quantity on the Transfer order line?

    If original quantity is 10, but you only transferred 7. Try reducing the Transfer quantity to 7.

    10 items shipped in a Transfer Order you have received only 8. You can do the following to close the transfer order. In the Setup tab, of the transfer order,  place a % for Under delivery, in order to consider the order as completed.

    AX also gives you the option to "close" the transfer order line when shipping. Check out the Close checkbox on the line when you are shipping the transfer order or try the functions button on the transfer order line, select the deliver remainder option and then hit the "Cancel quantity" button. Both options require properly set up under-delivery option (enable the functionality from the parameters and define the allowed percentage on the transfer order line).

    When receiving the materials, optionally use the scrapped quantity to say that those 2 items in the example where discarded. So, AX will enter 8 to inventory and at the same time will adjust 2 items out of inventory.

    This is an area of some black magic for example see these previous posts which triggered the same message:It is usually down to some reserved physical stock. Some posts that may shed some light but none are conclusive:

    You need to translate the text but this site http://shindu-b-raditya.blogspot.ae/

     refers to:

    Class:
    class InventUpd_Estimated extends InventUpdate
     Method:
    protected void updateDepreciateIssue()

    This  next post gives the workaround for an SO issue related to an Output order  that may give you a pointer:

    Thanks Magic for the reply ,

    The scenario is Transfer order created for 10 Pieces and shipped 8 only , now user wants to cancle the remaining quantity 2 , when click the delivery remainder system throws the above error as mentioned .

    In our case there is no output order  and regarding qty tolerances client already had under/over delivery setups in system and the automatic reservation enabled . When try to cancle /change the reservation qty to zero in the line , but system updates the qty back.

    Please share how to over come the problem.
