We are trying to estimate the effort needed to design, setup/configure, test and implement the effort needed to setup archiving of GL transactions and balances that are older than say 10 years. We have never used the Data Maintenance features and would appreciate any insight or experience you have had in setting something like this up. We will only be doing this for General Ledger and not any other functions at this time. If you have any ideas of effort involved or how well this function works, that would be helpful. Thank you in advance for sharing with us!

Hi Ludwig - Our client is in the public sector and they would like to store at least 10 years of data. What I am looking for is a purge and / or archive process to delete GL data older than 10 years. I cannot say much more than that for confidentiality concerns. Thank you for your interest!

Hello lolly,
I am interested in your business requirement/scenario to save data that old. Most authorities around the world require keeping financial records for 10 years but I have not come across the requirement to store them for more than 10 years. ... just wondering why you want to achieve that.
