I have read this article witch supposable explain witch DATA TYPES to extend for decimal point precision.
I´ve tried to extend some of the DT mentioned in the article with no luck. I notice that the referred Data Types have a property “No of Decimals is Extensible” set to false. So, when I create an extension I cannot change the No of decimals property.
The "amount" Data Type for example has the No of Decimals is Extensible property se to true, hence I was able to extend it and change the No of decimals property.
So, why does the Microsoft official article said that this data types can be change if they don’t? Does this have to do with my AX version? because it does not specify anything about this in the article.
My devbox has Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations (8.0) Update 15 (7.0.4841.41293).
Thanks in advance for your comments.
Hi Emilio,
The amount data types were the first data types which were made extensible. It is indeed related to your environment. The documentation is valid for the latest version of MSDyn365FO which is 8.1 based on PU20.
Could you share more information on what data types you had issues with? New extensibility possibilities are added with every Platform update so maybe that explains something.
