Error while posting expense line in Service order "no account number exists for account type wip cost value for project "

please help.it is shown when i pressed post in the expense line in the module of service management.

    Hello hemamaliinii,

    You should be able to check the fix yourself.

    Simply open the LCS site and search for the issue to get a list of the available hotfixes for your system version.

    Dear All,

    After contacting Microsoft support, It was a bug into Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 CU9.

    Make sure the account you select is associated to an account structure

    If the account is not linked to a structure you would have gotten this error message.

    You can spot check that by trying to create a general journal and post directly into that ledger account

    Hi all,

    We have Dynamics AX 2012 R3 CU9. We setup the WIP-Cost account into the project posting profile.

    We are setting up the posting profile on the project category level not on the project group level.

    Unfortunately have the same error message " No account number exists for account type WIP - cost value for project " while trying to post transactions into service orders however we can post transactions normally using the project management  journals.

    Please advise

    Hi Codehunter,

    another possibiliy is the main account itself. this has a Main account type. This must not be set to "Total" or "reporting" ...just an idea.

    this relates WIP Cost value. its actually the standard term in AX

    It looks like you have custom code on your system.  Project management and accounting does not have any posting account type of Statusable
