Error while posting expense line in Service order "no account number exists for account type wip cost value for project "

please help.it is shown when i pressed post in the expense line in the module of service management.

Hi Codehunter, Can you verify under Project management and accounting > Setup > Posting > Project groups, for the project group used in your transaction, if you have a ledger account setup under the Revenue Accounts fields group > Invoiced Revenue.

i did set up this project group by selecting balance instead of profit and loss but the error still exists.

Hello codehunter,

The path Nidhi mentioned above seems already ok. Yet, if I read your message correctly then it says that the WIP cost account is missing. So please double check whether you have Setup accounts in the WIP-cost value and WIP-cost value - item sections for item related transactions.

I just selected wip cost value but nothing changes and the error still exists.what else should I do??

Hi codehunter,

Are you using the standard Dynamics AX Service module or an add-on / modification?

In case you are using the standard application, can you check the category and transaction type your service order line is linked to? This category should be setup in the project ledger posting form.

Your service order should also be linked to a project. Can you identify that project in the general section of the order and can you identify the project type?

I believe that some screenprints might help us getting this fixed.

the post isnt yet handled after setting WIP Cost value from ledger posting setup.i noticed that when i select WIP cost value then close the form and get back to it,it returns to the same default value.
