Unable to make changes to a file in a checked out state

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to "Check Out" a file. When I right click and click Pending edit on pathOfTheClassLocallyMappedLocation with status Getting. In Visual Studio I'm able to see that the file is in a checked out state to me, also in the pending objects form under version control. The file's text appears blue too. But I'm still unable to make changes and when I right click again I'm able to see "Check Out" option rather than "Check In" and "Undo Pending Changes".

Any pointers?

Thanks! I never had to do it earlier though but this worked. Any idea why was it happening like this?

Go to the local repository and see the file read-only property. toggle it and see what changes it bring to the object when you check-out.
