How to initiate or branch a journey based on web behaviour in Real Time Marketing

Hi all

I am attempting to initiate and branch a journey (mid flow) based on web behaviour in Real time marketing.

We've tried to use the standard out of the box trigger within Real Time Marketing to initiate a journey based on marketing website visit but that just keeps returning the error below in the screenshot.  Anyone got any ideas how to get that working?

We can initiate a journey based on a segment built in Outbound and also branch that journey for web behaviour, again using Outbound segments in RTM.
But surely there has to be a neater and simpler way to do that within Real Time Marketing - any ideas anyone?

    Hi D365_Newbie,

Marketing Website Visited trigger is interaction trigger. It can't be used to start or stop journeys. It can only be used within a journey and represent a logical continuation of a preceding step.

So, you need do as you say ("We can initiate a journey based on a segment built in Outbound and also branch that journey for web behaviour, again using Outbound segments in RTM.")

    Please refer to this doc:

Thanks for your reply.  I've added an Outbound segment at the start but the trigger mid-way through the journey is still getting this error.
We've tried starting the journey with both leads or contacts - we still get the error.
We've also tried starting the journey using a custom trigger using the insights profile and we still get the same error when trying to use the out of the box trigger "marketing website visited".

Does anyone know why this might be and how to resolve?Website_2D00_Behaviour_2D00_Trigger2.PNG

HiD365 Newbie, did you solve the above?

    Hi,

I actually have the same issue for a use case. So I would be happy to understand how the default trigger is working.

But I have a workaround and created a custom trigger for the website and i embedded the code that was generated to a landing page manually.

    Kind regards

    Pauline
