Project Invoice Proposal Workflow

My customer would like their Finance team to create the invoice proposal and submit to workflow. They would like the Project Manager and Project Controller to approve the workflow work item. However, this option is not possible. Does anyone know a way around this?

Hi Karen Goodwin.

What version do you use? In 10.0.8 and 10.0.9 a workflow "Review project invoice proposals" is available.

Thanks Christoph.

This is the workflow I have created but in terms on approval options / assignment types in the approval workflow element, there is no way it can be assigned to the project manager or project controller who has been specified on the project ID.

Hi Karen,

Are you sure that you wanted to share your one note credentials with user names and passwords?

I would recommend changing your screenprint.

About your workflow:

Have you tested using the assignment type participant and then selected either the security role or user group options?

If this is not working for you then you might consider using business events and PowerAutomate for configuring your workflow.

Hi Ludwig,

My customer has similar requirement and I can't use Security role participants because it would assign the workflow to the user who have this role. In this case, the Project manager can be different across different projects, so I want this to be assigned to specific Project manager specified on that project. Is it possible out of the box or the only option is to go with Power Automate leveraging Business Events?
