Length of the database file is different from the length recorded

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

On Friday, end user used the expand process to expand the size of the current database.  A backup was not taken before running this process.  The end user believes they did not increase the size correctly prior to the error.

Now when opening the database, the following error prompts: The length of the database file is different from the length recorded.

To compound the problem, there has not been a good backup of this database for 3 weeks. Is there any way to repair the damaged database?

You need to contact a SQL expert on this matter. I really suggest do not try anything with the DB and call for a SQL expert.

    Hi,

    Please follow :-

I strongly feel that you get a SQL expert suggestion before you could do anything.
