Disable automatically creation of new msdyn_resourcerequirement when creating a new msdyn_workorder

Hi everyone,

every time we create a new workorder in field service it also automatically creates a new resourcerequirement in this workorder, with the same name as the workorder has.

Is it possible to disable this automatic creation of the ressourcerequirement?

Thanks a lot!

Marco

It's not and you wouldn't want that. The resource requirement (RR) is what appears on the schedule board and what gets scheduled, not the work order. See here: docs.microsoft.com/.../universal-resource-scheduling-for-field-service

Here's a schematic diagram I created when we introduced Universal Resource Scheduling. The RR is an abstraction layer that makes scheduling any entity possible.

For work orders, the RR and the associated WO are kept in sync automatically, for additional entities you need to configure that sync yourselves.

    Hi Marco.

I suspect that Resource Requirement is create via a Field Service plugin, what you should not disable.

How about filter those resource requirements in the Schedule Board instead? Or use Workflow/Flow to update them?

    Regards,

    Gabriel.

Going one step back, why do you want to disable the RR creation, Marco?

Thanks for your explanation. I'm familiar with the construct. Anyways we need to create some RRs in the workorder by ourselves, as we have multiple RRs foreach workorder, depending where it is coming from.

For the moment we used a filter like Gabriel suggested.
