SL 2011 FP1 - Supported SQL 2012 Versions

Posted on by

Our environment has SQL 2012 Std SP1 with no CUs  (11.0.3153.0).  Based on some SQL performance problems supposedly fixed in later releases, I'd like to update our SQL.  What versions of SQL 2012 std are supported for SL 2011 FP1:   SP2?  Latest CUs?

110 may work, but we don't support it

90 and 100 are the preferred options for 2011

100  is the only option for Dynamics SL 2015

We don't support the 110 level.

Mark - Thanks for this.  We updated to SP2 and latest CU with no issues.

Follow up question:   Just noticed that our SL databases are at compatibility level 90 (SQL 2005).  Any issue with updating them to level 110 (SQL 2012)?  We're on 2011 FP1.

    Thanks - Tom

    Hello Tom,

The SL 2011 system requirements guide can be found here:

    mbs.microsoft.com/.../SL2011SysReqs

We haven't really ever seen where a newer service pack or CU for SQL server has caused issues with SL so you should be fine to apply SQL Sp2 + CUs.

    Thanks,
