AX 2012 R3 and using Advanced Warehouse

I do not have the history of how this happened and I'm not sure how this is possible, but after completing a Production Order, "Work" created transactions that do not have a Batch number specified on a Product that requires a Batch number. There are a couple of issues with what I'm seeing. First, there is a negative transaction when negative transactions are not allowed. Second, there is no Batch number associated with the transactions (both positive and negative). At this point, I can't adjust, move, transfer, or correct either the Positive 40 or the Negative 40. My last resort is to go in and modify the data in the tables, but before I do that, I want to make sure there isn't a way to correct this through the client.

This product does have correct inventory transactions, Batch numbers and non-negative. There is currently only 1 transaction like this that has happened. As you can see below, there is a line for (-40) in FG and a line for (40) in FGR4 that do not have a batch number specified.

Is the "blank issue allowed" checkbox enabled on the tracking dimension group for the batch dimension? Also, AX will only prevent negative physical inventory by batch if the "physical inventory by dimension" checkbox is also enabled on the tracking dimension group.

Thanks for the info.

The Batch and Serial Tracking Dimensions do not allow Blank Receipt and the Item Model group is set to Not allow Physical Negative Inventory. See settings below:

What does the storage dimension group that this product is using show? Does the "location" dimension have the "physical inventory by dimension" checkbox checked? It looks, based on your on-hand, that this might not be the case.

Also, which type of transactions have blank batches? Since it's not selected as "primary stocking", AX will allow the batch to be blank until a physical transaction happens. This could be something on a picking list, something on a sales order (before it's shipped), or something on a purchase order (before it's received.)

The storage dimension group has both "Physical Inventory" at the location and "Primary Stocking" checked. See screenshot below:

The transaction in this case was a Production Put Away using Advanced Warehouse Management. As you can see the work transaction moves the blank batch number from FG to FGR4. But once the Production Order was reported as finished, the 40 are put in to FG. Currently FG nets out to "0" on hand but the "Work" is missing the batch number, so nothing is available in FG or FGR4.

And also, in my Location directive for finished goods put away, I do not have the "allow negative inventory" selected.

Hmm. I'm not real sure how the work is assigning the batch number. If it's a physical transaction, you'd think there'd be batch number assigned to them as needed.

Even though you asked about this, I still managed to overlook it. On the tracking dimensions, the Primary Stocking checkbox is not checked. I believe this could be causing the issue, but now to figure out how to update all the items and fix the wrong transactions. I'm still in disbelief that this 1 checkbox can allow the transactions that we are seeing, but this must be it.

UPDATE:

Found that the issue is caused by Completing work using the User Interface in Warehouse Management vs. using the Mobile device menu (RF gun) to do the transaction. The mobile device menu, Standard AX inventory journals, etc. require that a Serial or Batch number be entered, but the WHS Work form does not and in this case has created transactions for Blank Serial and Batch numbers. Unfortunately there is no client side way to fix the transactions, so data in the tables will need to be manipulated to fix the issue.

I am also facing similar issue where only inbound location updated with Batch number later all the transaction updated without batch number below is the Example

Sorry to hear you are having a similar issue. In my case it was caused by a specific transaction that was done. Do you have any details on what happened. Just the current on hand values doesn't say much. Are you saying that you had the batch when you did the receive but all subsequent transactions did not have a batch number? I would check the settings listed above as that sounds like you may not have the batch setup the way that you want.

you are right Po received in Inbound location that time Batch number updated and subsequent transaction are without Batch numbers those transaction done by mobile device Now we have Batch number we have to manipulated to fix the issue.in order update the correct Batch number in Final Locations
