Edit Link options on a marketing email (Target: _self, _blank, _parent, _top)

When you add a link in the body of a marekting email you have the option of specifying the Target. 
The options to select from are: _self, _blank, _parent and _top. 
What do these options do? 
I can't work it out.

    Regarding your question about editing the link options in Marketing Email
     
    Here's what our team came up with after searching for information, as you described
    When you add a link to the body of a marketing email in Dynamics 365 Marketing, you have the option to specify the target.
    The options available are: _self, _blank, _parent and _top.
     
    Actually, this option is an attribute of the HTML Tag
     
    _self: This option opens the linked document in the same frame or window as the current document.
    _blank: This option opens the linked document in a new window or tab.
    _parent: This option opens the linked document in the parent frame or window of the current frame or window.
    _top: This option opens the linked document in the full body of the window.
