How to achieve grouping in grid of electronic reporting

Hi experts, 
  I am trying to achieve grouping of records in a table in electronic reporting. I have a custom data source and I have a string EDT which classifies each data into respective groups. The below is the format that I am trying to achieve in the electronic reporting which I did with an excel template. I am trying to group the records in terms of my group Id and show the sub total and then followed by the second group records and so on. I tried grouping the name manager in my excel template in different ways and searched in the web but was not able to achieve. Appreciate for any inputs. Thanks in advance.
