Is there a way to reduce shipped inventory upon Invoice Posting instead of Packing List Posting?

Assuming I understand your request correctly, there are two places where you can tell AX not to post to the ledger during Packing slip posting:
If you read the help for that last one, it tells you how the two interact:

Hi Lizd,
I do think your question could be different compared to the answer provided by GuyUK. Do I understand correctly that you have shipped e.g. 20 units, but it should be 16? So at Invoice posting you want to Invoice 16 and reduce the 4 which were posted incorrectly?
In this scenario you have to post a negative packing slip. When the invoice is lower compared to the shipped quantity, AX assumes there will be a remaining quantity to invoice.
I am sorry if my question was not clear. The way I am processing in AX now is that when I post the Packing slip, the physical and financial inventory is updated (reduced) by the shipped quantity. I would like those updates to occur upon invoice posting instead of Packing slip posting. In many cases, we are creating hundreds of the packing slips a few days ahead of time in order to prep them for EDI transfers, which require a Packing slip number. With that volume, there is not enough time to process on the day of shipment. But in this case, our inventory is reduced a few days ahead of time before the inventory is actually shipped. Can I configure AX to reduce inventory for the shipped quantities upon invoicing and not upon packing Slip posting?
For financial inventory (that is, the value in the inventory G/L account) - Yes. My answer above gives you this.
For Physical inventory (that is, the quantity that the inventory module believes is 'on hand') - No. Packing slip will always update the inventory on hand.
If I unclick Post Physical Inventory at the Inventory Model Group level, will it post the Physical Inventory upon Invoice Posting, which is when I want it to post...
The Post Physical Inventory option on the Model group determines if you want to post the physical transactions to the general ledger or not. At posting the packing slip the inventory transactions are always updated (inventory on-hand) like also Guy mentioned.
