Hello, this morning after Microsoft security update KB5000822 applied on our Windows Server all of our reports through Dynamics GP Report Writer lost the ability to render images such as our corporate logo. We are running Dynamics GP 18.3 on a Windows Server 2019 standard 1809 with terminal services and end users remote desktop connecting. Printing the reports to screen displays the logo, but once the report is printed to pdf or a printer it turns into a black box. Modifying the reports and updating the images has no effect. We checked in our test system and can confirm this issue doesn't happen prior to KB5000822 installation.
I've heard of similar issues on Windows 10 clients from recent updates but have not seen anything for Windows Server yet. Is this a known issue with a potential fix besides removing the cumulative security update - which I'd really prefer not to do if possible.
Thank you!
Hello Tim,
This issue has been reported to development, who is looking into it (its not just GP).The GP team is working on a few workarounds and hope to release something ASAP.
I will respond back to this post when we have an update. We will also likely be releasing a blog with the workarounds to make sure we get the word out to as many users as possible. Thanks!
Justin
can you reply to this thread when you find the answer, so we are aware of how to resolve.

Possibly the Shell32.dll file got corrupted. Try removing the registry hack and see what happens... If the "normal" shortcut arrow shows, then you must try repairing the system files file (sfc /scannow/iMessage PC).
We are using Dynamics GP 2015 R2 on Windows Server 2012 R2 to process AP Checks and this issue is also occurring with logos on our Check Format Report.
Hello All,
The issue is due to how GP is calling the printer for this old functionality.

That post will be updated with more information as it is available.
We encountered the same problem with a number of users - our IT removed the Windows Update noted and the problem was resolved.
Hi Justin,
When can we expect a fix on this ?
Thanks for the updating
We found that this update had to be rolled back as well to remove the black boxes. 4601554
Hi All,
I updated the article with a bit more information.
This issue should occur with any updates downloaded this month.
Thanks!
Fix is out by Microsoft.
Please check your Windows Update settings and check for the latest KB Updates to apply against your various OS versions. You may have to install the KB manually as there might be some issues with the Windows Auto updates on this particular fix.
