Hi, one of my cusotmer asking how we handle that in Financials.  He sold Item by unit/ peaces instead of box but the product can't be order by multiple of 12 exemple or anohter quantiyt that correspond to a box.  I have another one how sold is item by inch but it was sold by feet 12 inch.

how can we set that kind of rules in Financials.  I see we can create like a box is 12 units but no relationship rules.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Jean-François,

Thank you for the questions. It is not possible to disallow the use of a given Unit of Measure Code. You can however have some control over the Unit of Measure Code which defaults for a transaction. I did this by creating a Cross Reference record for my Item and the Vendor that I purchase the item from. In the Cross Reference record, you can specify the Unit of Measure to use. Now when I enter a Purchase Order for the Vendor in question, add the Item in question, and then choose the Cross-Reference No. When you follow these steps, then the Unit of Measure from the Cross Reference record will be used.

That can help but not what my customer looking for.  Quickbooks allow to do that from is statement.  Because in this way, that can not prevent a customer ordering like 14 items from the website instead of 12 or 24 it's as to be order by 12.  thank you.

    Hi Jean-François,

Thank you for the clarification. We don't have the ability to define rules around the Units of Measure in this manner in Financials. This is a good product suggestion. I will share this with our development team.
