Hi everyone,

When I'm working with Outlook app and try to view a record in D365

, the system always opens a standard form, which we are not using. It leads to error messages etc.
Is it possible to change the form which is open by clicking [view] or it's not customizable?

Thank you!

I have the same question (0)

I think you just need to edit the App for Outlook to add your custom form and deselect all the others.

Thank you, Paul, I've tried, but it didn't help :(

When the form opened (before the change you just made) do you get the option to switch forms?

Paul, if you mean this, yes

(I use a screenshot for Account because we have the same issue for it)

Once I change it to the right form, the correct form will be opening everytime for me. But, for our users it's not okay, 'cause first, they have to close js-error window (most probably they'd create a ticket to Support at this step :) ), then to go to the top part of the form, click on the selector I highlighted above and change the form to the correct one.

I would limit the forms that you don't use by either disabling them or by settings security roles to them that regular users do not have.

(In form editor, use the 'enable security roles' function. Make sure to have a fallback form.)

Next to that limit the available forms in the outlook app to the one they are allowed to use.

Also, make sure you are already working with the UCI completely.

I was just going to say what Wouter just said although as you point out, once they select the correct form it will always open the correct one (Why are you getting JS Messages?) Also you could try changing the form order, this was previously for the mobile app but it may still apply for the Outlook app?

Just to explain; D365 caches the latest selected form for an entity. That is why if you select the correct form, the next time it opens the expected form again. If you would clear your cache you will see it opens the defaulted form again.

(This is per user of course.)

This is a nice to know thing for multi-editing records. You first need to switch to the form you want to use for multi-edit prior to opening the multi-edit dialog. You will see it changes the form :)
