Hi

Is it possible to give an advisory control for a budget so that when actual transaction amount exceeds the budgeted amount, the user should get an error or warning telling that the amount exceeeded the budgeted amount.

Also please help me to understand the process flow of Budget in AX.

Andyman, did you ever switch over to Microsoft Forecaster?

I haven't been on this message board for a while but your best bet is likely going to be Microsoft Forecaster (www.microsoft.com/forecaster) which is sold as part of Dynamics Advanced Management licensing.  Your specific feature request is not in Forecaster but you can apply conditional formatting that will highlight the item once it exceeds a limit.

Budgeting in AX is not good and weak . Its a strightforward defining a bugget and then generate a simple  variance report . Nothing else ...there are lot of views on this topic from all sectors about poor budgeting in AX
