Work Breakdown structure - Activity number on timesheets

Hi,

While entering a timesheet , I choose an activity number ( based on Work Breakdown structure), then the project category gets defaulted to a certain value that I can't change.

Is it possible to be able to change the project category on the timesheet when an activity number is selected?

Note: I tried defining multiple project categories in the 'details' form of the activity, however the timesheet still  is not allowing to change the project category.

Thanks

Sam

    Hello Sam,

I can make this change without any issue and post the timesheet.

Here is an example from my test environment where the activity 'task 1' was linked to the PM category.

I am able to change it into any other category and post the timesheet.

Can this be a user rights issue or one that is related to the project validation settings?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi,

I agree, it is works like the screenshots that you showed me in the test USSI environment. However, in one of the other environment, it is not. What setup option could be affecting it? Thanks

    Hello Sam,

I also assigned my worker to one of the other demo companies and was able to change the category.

Do you have an employee-category restriction in place?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi,

The employee ID has access to all categories. Any other setup items to check, or could it be a customization?

    Thanks

    Hello Sam,

It might be a customization but we cannot say without additional information.

I think the best and fastest way to find out is contacting a developer.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
