Zoom Level changes the appearance of a section - how to prohibit that behaviour?

Hi guys,

in one of our scenarios, we have a list (defined as a section with 4 columns) that does only make sense when you read it from left to right. This list represents an approval state: Who - What - when - comments. In the form, it is a section with four columns:

This is the standard (and the desired) way how the section should be displayed.

However, starting at a zoom level at 150%, the appearance changes so that the colums are displayed vertically, not horizontally. Looks then like this here:

This look and feel is kind of odd, and makes it dificult to understand the information that are connected to each other (represented by the numbers in the pictures).

Is there a way to change the appearance of the section on the form, so that it is always displayed like the first picture? I could align every row of the first picture in a separate section, which means that at least for each entry, every "number" is displays vertically. But this does not change the general problem. So, any suggestions`?

    Hi Florian,

This is by design and cannot be changed.

The reason why the form layout will automatically change with zooming is that the unified interface will automatically adapt to the screen size.

Unified Interface uses responsive web design principles to provide an optimal viewing and interaction experience for any screen size, device, or orientation. It brings all the rich experiences to any client that you are using. Whether you are using a browser, tablet, or phone, you will be able to consume similar experiences.

    Reference: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/about-unified-interface

When you increase the browser zoom, it is equivalent to shrinking the display content of the browser, in other words, the size of the browser is reduced. Then the unified interface will automatically adjust the display layout to fit the small window, that is, all the fields you see become a whole column.

So this cannot be avoided. We can only remind users to try not to use small screen devices to log in to D356 and not to expand the browser zoom beyond 150%.

Thanks Hao, for your answer. Ok, then I will go there with a workaround, as already mentioned (one section per line).
