Hi,
I have been assigned to enable email tracking for Dynamics CRM. We use Dynamics 365 On-Premise 2016 and Exchange Server On-Premise. This feature has been used before with an outsourced company.
I am new to this and currently referring to the link below.
Though everyone has Mailboxes created in the Exchange server, some users do not have active mailboxes in Dynamics 365.
Please advise how to migrate those user mailboxes to Dynamics 365.
Thanks and Regards,
Randima
Hello Randima,
So basically if you wanted these to be user mailboxes in Dynamics 365, they would need to have a User Record in Dynamics 365. You would want to provide the users in Active Directory with a Dynamics 365 CRM license to sync the user to the Dynamics site. Once the user is synched to Dynamics, then you would place the user mailbox address on the user account and it would sync down to the created mailbox record.
If the user record exists in Dynamics, navigate to settings > email configuration > mailboxes > and drop down the view to "inactive" mailboxes to ensure they aren't showing up under this list.
However, if you didn't want to give them a full user record, you could create a Queue mailbox by navigating to settings > Business Management > queues > +new > and you can enter the mailbox address here and save as a queue mailbox.
Then if you navigate back to settings > email configuration > mailboxes > drop the view down to active queue mailboxes > you will see the queue mailbox here that you can test and enable to their exchange mailbox as well.
Thanks,
Tyson
