Hi team,

I have two questions on Business Central. I was doing my research and was having difficulty exporting employees table with all of the fields available in the Employee card. Also, I want to check where can I find if the employees have any relation or data on the other tables like Assets linked to it, before I delete an Employee .

  1. How to export Employees table or any table for data migration in Business Central? I
  2. How to know an employee is related to what?

You help is much appreciated!

To export data from Business Central, you would use a Configuration Package selecting the table(s) you want to export.  You can also select which fields within the table(s) you want to export.  Below is a list of standard Employee tables to select from:

I would not recommend deleting the Employee record.  It would be better to adjust the Status, Termination Date, etc. on the record.  This way you maintain a clear history of the employment and any related ledgers.  If the employee is linked to a Resource, it would be a good idea to Block that Resource as well.

    Hi, just adding some information.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central: How to Export and Import Data (Using Configuration Packages)
If you just want to confirm the data, it is recommended to use the Table Information page. Click No. of Records to open the table directly.

As for checking the releated table, as far as I know there is no easy way. Some standard functions have the following functions, but this is only checked for the specified table, there is no way to check the entire system.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.
