There might be various reasons but here are the most likely causes for the error message:
Example 1: The benefit period is 1/1/2020 -12/31/200. The employee was hired BEFORE 1/1/2020. When eligibility is run we will look at the employee compensation as of 1/1/2020 to calculate insurance coverage amounts. If the employee doesn’t have a fixed comp plan on 1/1/2020 you will get the error.
Example 2: The employee is a new hire and needs benefits. They started AFTER the beginning of the plan (5/20/2020) so we will look at their employment start date to see when they should have a compensation record. If they don’t have a compensation record on 5/20/2020 we will give an error.
