Create User Registration in Power Apps Portal

Dear All,

I am relatively new to power portals and here I want to make a registration form in the portal. The registration form is simple with very minimal fields such as First Name, Last Name, Email, and User type.

However, challenge is based on the selected user type I want to set the roles of the user and display him forms accordingly in the portal. Such as if the user is an Teacher, He/She will be able to see assigned courses page. Similarly, if user is Student then they will be able to see time table form where as if user is registered as an admin they will be able to see all pages.

How can I assign roles to a user while he registers by selecting the user type? and control the security restrictions.

As mentioned already you could use workflow, or powerautomate flows or a plugin for when a contact is created.
Once you have this sorted, all the rest of the design can be controlled by weblink sets set according to the webroles.

Also, if you want to redirect the users to same page but show different content, you will need to write JS or Liquid code on the page.

Hello Faran Saleem,

For assigning roles while he choose user type, keep a drop down in the user type(your roles) and add a work flow based on the user type to assign the web role

This will be your step one in the work flow ie. To check your user type and assign the web role accordingly

Inside based on your conditions populated the web role

You need to Create web roles(in your case Teacher,Student).

To control security go to the Power apps and select the web page

For teacher give the web role as teacher.
