Field Service - Schedule Board - Change behaviour of Retrieve Resources Query - Characteristics

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to change the behaviour of the Filter of "Characteristics - Rating".

I already determined that it is defined in the "Retrieve Resource Query" and have tried to alter the existing XML and use a modified copy of it. Unfortunately so far I haven't been able to achieve my goal. Does anyone know how I can get the Filter on the Schedule Board to search for Characteristics in an OR fashion?

So far when I search for two different Characteristics (for example because the work order needs someone who has a certification as a Project Manager and I also need one that has a certification as a Technician) there are no results because none of the bookable resources (in my case users) have both of these characteristics in one contact. How can I set the search constraints for "Characteristics" from "AND" to "OR"?

My goal is to be able to enter all requirements for the work order and get all the results that match partly.

Thanks & best regards
Mario

Thank you very much Alexander. I'll have a look and I think from what I've seen from a glance this sould be covering all the requirements in my situation.

For a single-resource requirement the standard behavior makes sense. If you look for an electrician who speaks Italian, the OR combination wouldn't give you the appropriate results. A simple workaround would be to go to the search panel and remove one of the required skills.

However what you describe sounds like the perfect use case for Requirement Groups. Your requirement could be fulfilled by resource 1 with skill A and resource 2 with skill B OR with resource 3 that possesses skill A and B. Details here: docs.microsoft.com/.../multi-resource-scheduling-requirement-groups This works out of the box with Schedule Assistant.
