Parent Child Marketing Campaigns

Hey guys,

I am trying to understand how to create parent/child marketing campaign in Dynamics.

for example, if I run a parent campaign called AA, i want:

  • Campaign A leads
  • Campaign B leads
  • Campaign C leads

to be pushed to the parent campaign AA as well as budget, costs ect...so I can have an overview how the campaign is performing from a top level. Then delve into child campaigns to assess each of them performance.

Thank you

I have the same question (0)

    Hi there,

This is possible, but not OotB. You need to do some customizations.

Mihir Shah explained how to do this step-by-step.

    Hey Thijs,

Thank you for this, I tried this solution but it looks like I am unable to sync child info to parent campaign. Will need to dig a bit more on that. Any idea? Thank you again

    RE: Parent Child Marketing Campaigns

    Good morning,

The trick is establishing a recursive relationship from Campaign to Campaign (a self referencing relationship). OotB you can create hierarchies of accounts: one parent account and many child accounts. The same for contacts to create an organizational hierarchy. When a relationship exists, you can use data mapping, sub grids, roll up fields to sum data on child records.

You write that you are  unable to sync child info to the parent campaign. Could you elaborate on that?

    Kind regards,

    Thijs van der Klei

    RE: Parent Child Marketing Campaigns

Hi Thijs, thank you for your message. I did followed the steps as described on the post above. However, when I use the parent campaign look up field from the child campaign no data shows in the parent campaign. When I created a new form in the hierarchy relation section, I cannot retrieve that form anywhere.

From what you are saying I should map child campaign field to the parent campaign.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.
