Joining two Tables and binding required fields into our Electronic reporting

Hi Everyone,

When working on building report using Electronic reporting, our users have a requirement which requires fetching data from another table. So basically we tried using the Join functionality to join two table, (the table from which data is to fetched being set as the primary one) using outer join. We further created one Calculated field (where we have used the functions of listrecord and list), where we were getting a list of records developed out of the two tables referred above.

I am not quite sure how to proceed further so that, only the required field data gets fetched.
Could anyone guide on if the steps I have followed is correct and if not, how could I join two tables successfully and derived required data.???

Joining of two tables.....

Calculated field to use these two joined tables

And this being my calculated field from where all the bindings are made to the data model, my question: how to inculcate the changes in here..??
FILTER(WithholdingTaxTrans, AND(WithholdingTaxTrans.TransDate>='$Period_DateFrom', WithholdingTaxTrans.TransDate<='$Period_DateTo', WithholdingTaxTrans.VendAccount=""))

I hope I have explained myself quite well and thanks in advance :-)

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Radhika,

Please check the below article that describes the best how to use JOIN data sources to get data from multiple application tables in ER:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../er-join-data-sources

Please let me know if this helps or if you need any other information, and we will be more than glad to assist further.

    With kind thoughts,
    Laura

    Hi Radhika M,

    I don't know what Whithhold1 is.

Is that the withholding tax trans table?

If so, the join does not make sense to me because these tables are not related.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Radhika M,

Before digging into this one, can you let us know what data you want to extract by means of an electronic report?

In other words, what do you want to achieve?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

RE: Joining two Tables and binding required fields into our Electronic reporting

We want to get financial dimensions into our report, the main table which we are using here, records only ledger account and not the dimensions, we found a proper table to fetch financial dimensions and this table does have an established relationship with our main table too.

    1. The calculated field used for binding in data model..
    2. The table which contains the required ledger account and dimensions too..
    3. It shows how these two tables are related
still we are figuring out how to bind the fields to get the desired record- that is ledger accounts and dimensions....
I hope it explains the situation pretty well.....

    Hi Laura,

Tried the steps given in this model- thankyou they were quite helpful but still not able to extract required data. I binded the two tables based on there relationships and then joined then...... but while generating the report from format mapping, it says the list is empty and hence not able to figure out what is going wrong??

Could you guide further, if required I would attach the SS too...

    Thank you!
