May I please ask what are the best reports in GP2016 to see how many finished goods we can make from our available parts inventory? Thank you, Dave

    Hi Dave,

I don't think there is a ready-made report of SmartList in GP that will tell you this... since a finished good is mainly based on a Manufacturing or Inventory BOM, it's all the sub-components that will make up about how many FG's you can produce.

I don't remember having ever seen such a report in GP, though I'm not a MfG module expert...

    Hello,

Thank you for your reply. To best use the reports in GP 2016 what information must be entered for each part of a BOM? For example, does each part of an Inventory BOM have to have the Minimum and Maximum set?

    Thank you,

    Dave

As said, I'm not a MfG module expert, but I believe that there should be a SmartList called BOM And Inventory Quantity Analysis that should help you find what you're looking for...

I don't think the BOM itself has any Min/Max quantities, but the Item Maintenance does have that info. This would be what triggers new PO's when using the PO Generator option in GP when Item stock runs low..

The MfG user guide and training manual are several hundred pages long... MfG is a complex module in GP.
