Alert notifications to a Group of Users

Hi,

I have a requirement from my client.  They want alert rule notifications (not emails) to a group of users.  The create rule for allows only one user. I want to customise the form by adding a group like users assigned to a retail store and send notifications when a new sales order is created.  Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks Sukrut, I have gone through the details.  However, it is sending emails not popups. I tried to tweak his code but doesn't work.
