Hi.

I am still in phase of learning GP and I have one question.

Can I import data to extender window with eConnect?

If it is not possible with eConnect what is best solutions by your experience?

Hi Ljubisa,

I don't think eConnect is going to work for you. My advice would be to create an Extender Import using Extender and import the data using the Extender Import window. It has worked perfectly for me in the past.

Hi Leslie.

Thank you for your answer.

I find extender import and successfully import data.

But I working on some integration with external application and must importing data dynamically.For example when I create customer trough eConnect,I must populate customer child name,and child school and that is data on extender form for customer maintenance.Is it possible doing in some way ?

Extender tables are really difficult, to push data into, too many tables to deal with. I usually create a GP macro to push the data to the gp window, but will not work if you are importing data dynamically.

We are using Node Builder from SmartConnect to build interfaces to GP that do not exist in eConnect, SmartConnect or Integration Manager. It seems to be working well. Leslie's suggestion works, also. I've used the Extender Import function to build imports for Extender Windows and Tables.

Hi John.

Can I make sql stored procedures for importing data to EXT00100 key form and related to that record import value string value in EXT00101 ?

It is only one record per customer.Does it will cause some troubles or produce some issues in GP?

You could do that, it would be unsupported by GP, because you could easily corrupt that data. I've done that once, but never again. The sproc was huge and complicated, I had to hydrate about 5 EXT* tables. idea: If the solution is required to be dynamic (no human interaction), then I would store custom data in your own custom table, then use vba to show those values in GP window. This VBA route is a LOT of work, but doable.
