AL Extension unable to display .app files from BC Tenant in Visual Studio

Hi all,

For some context first, my company's BC environment has an existing BC extension developed by another developer at our company. I'm coming in to assist them, but I'm running into an issue when trying to open the application extension package files(.app). I know from my co-worker's screen that I should be able to browse the objects in our BC tenant using these .app files but whenever I try to open them I'm presented with the error "The file is not displayed in the editor because it is either binary or uses an unsupported text encoding. Do you want to open it anyway?" Clicking on "Do you want to open it anyway?" just opens a dialogue for selecting a new editor, but I only have the default text editor in vs code.

Any help or guidance in the right direction for fixing this is appreciated!

Hi, please try to install the AZ AL Dev Tools/AL Code Outline extension in VS Code.

PS: There is also a package that provides many tools for BC development, which can also be recommended.
