Is it possible to suspend a main account that is used in automatic account posting? If so, could you share some instructions?

Hi,

Why do you want to suspend that?

If really you want then why cant you just remove the account from automatic posting setup?

Hi Cyrille,

Can you tell why you want to do this? You can suspend the main account like any other main account, however this will cause errors during posting where the account is used.

It would be great if you can clarify your requirement.

The thing is that if you suspend such an account, there is no warning, seems like the acc. gets suspended. Further, no warning is thrown even when transactions are posted, seems the suspension checkbox is simply useless for an account that is used in automatic transaction posting.

Strange, this is not expected, if a main account is suspended then it must not post anyway.

Can you check if in LE overrides this is allowed for the LE?

If you don't have customizations in this area, I would suggest to check LCS Issue search for possible known bugs. If you can't find an entry, you can log an incident for Microsoft Support.

It is possible to suspend all main accounts and also do it on a legal entity level (legal entity override).

When you suspend a main account and try to post on that main account from either General ledger or from one of the subledgers (Accounts payable, Fixed asset ...) you get a red message telling you that the Main account is closed.

It is correct that the user who suspend a main account don't receive information about where the main account is used in configuration in e.g. subledger, allocation rules.
