Editing Field Service Mobile (Dynamics 365) best practices

Whats the best practices for extensively editing the Field Service Mobile (Dynamics 365) app?

Microsoft recommends using the standard app rather than creating a custom app, in that case:

  • Should I add the full model driven app Field Service Mobile (Dynamics 365) to a custom solution or just the edited components?

  • Should I create custom forms or edit the default ones? Normally I'd swap out to my own, but the docs state the default should be used as they are optimised for mobiles.

I have a fear that whatever option I choose will cause upgrade problems further down the road. Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Hi john,

    I suggest you follow the instructions in the Microsoft documentation to edit the Field Service Mobile (Dynamics 365) app.

    Hi John.

    You better use the Field Service app and form to get all the features.

    The best way to deal with it is to understand the managed solution behaviour as you are going to add an extra layer on the top of the Field Service layer.
